FEST's Guiding Values

FEST has adopted the following goals to guide discussions and actions:

  1. Convene as an honest broker: Create shared spaces for collaboration and co-creation that democratize the engagement of all stakeholders without discrimination.
  2. Foster connection and collaboration: Using collaborative systems change as a basis, we create opportunities for social entrepreneurs, allies, affected people, and skeptics to generously share knowledge and resources to inspire the acceleration of progress towards impact.
  3. Support co-creation: Provide opportunities for community members and other stakeholders to build the relationships, trust and conviction to work together as equals in co-creating collaborations for systemic change.
  4. Celebrate: Celebrating the movement’s achievements, people’s contributions and elevating its significance.
  5. Calibrate: Use research and data to support ongoing learning and adapting so that the movement stays focused on accelerating meaningful systems change.
  6. Promote coherence: Ensure that the activities of members are developed coherently so that we work for systems change to achieve the goal of growing the impact of the movement.
  7. Nurture collective consciousness: Engage members to shift norms and narratives from individuality towards a sense of collective community identity and collective benefit.
  8. Commit to radical transparency:  Provide full and honest accounting of all facts, information, and context essential to ensuring an informed and equitable decision-making process.
